I'm a long-term patient - since the practice was in a little house closer to the village centre - and all experiences have been positive.
My booking was for a blood test as a follow up to a doctor visit six months ago. Phone call was answered promptly and appointment quickly made to a date and time of my choice. On the appointment date I registered electronically on the wall display by the entrance door; very easy to use and saves queuing . My name was displayed a couple of minutes before the appointment time and in I went. The nurse was excellent in explaining what was being done and was quick and efficient. The whole visit took about ten minutes. Brilliant!.
I am also on repeat medication and the process is so simple and efficient. Just send my details on email and the pick up the prescription from my choice of pharmacy after 48 hours. I have popped in on the off chance the next day after re- order, and on both occasions the medication was ready. Really glad to be with the Hassengate medical team, a beacon for the NHS.
Firstly, when calling the surgery to get information on appointments and help with what to do, the receptionist are rude. Secondly the care that all patients would like to receive, I did not get at all. 70% of the time I come out of the doctors feeling worse then I do going in. You don't get spoken to in a nice respectful calm manner, the doctor made me feel like an unfit person and spoke down to me like I was a waste of time, you don't get taken seriously. Then once trying to get the information I was after I got told to just go back to the receptionists, which in my option don't really want to give you the time of day. If your looking for care, this isn't the place. Some doctors are great but some are not. Left the doctors feeling like my issue once again isn't resolved.
I am in desperate need of help for my spose who is in severe long term pain. Very disappointed in the response by the GP's here. Upon being presented with a private report which was undertaken from works private heathcare they did not even read it. Was met with a response of 'what do you want me to do' and 'we haven't got to the bottom of it now we never will' There were suggestions in the report of avenues to investigate, but they did not read it so they will never know . This is a long term chronic pain condition of which we are desperate for help. Just arrived at the drs surgery in tears pleading for help, I said I could sit there all day and wait, they told me I would not be seen and I should go away and wait for a phonecall (another fob off). If my spouse could cut off a limb to remove the pain he would. So desperate for help but not getting any here....
I have been a patient of this surgery and the earlier in southend road for over 50 years
apart from afew occasions I have always good and fair treatment although on
occasions I have come away with not the answer I was hoping ng for, the doctors
are always courteous and helpful, like many others I would hope to get an
appointment earlier than is currently possible. As a disabled driver I would like to
see more disabled car parking spaces which would make my visit more easier the
new pharmacy makes life alot easier for someone like myself has to have alot
pf medication , I am 84 years old. The reception staff are a credit to the surgery
and 2 ladies in particular Debbie and Lyn have been and always a tremendous
help to me personally and do everything possible to help me in every way.
